2003 Toyota Celica Transmission 5 & 6 Speed Manual

Aug 12, 2014 I have a 2003 Celica with a manual transmission. It is making a knocking type noise but only when the transmission is engaged, the second I depress the clutch the knock goes away, so it only happens in gear, all gears anything over 15mph. I own a 2002 Toyota Celica 5 speed manual transmission with.

A 5-speed manual transmission was standard in the GT, but the GT-S got Celica’s first 6-speed. Either model could have an optional 4-speed automatic transmission. The automatic in the GT-S included a provision for manual gear selection, using four steering-wheel buttons.
