Bio: Beginning manufacture in 1996, this XV20 series Camry was offered up until 2001. This Camry was offered in 5 different trims which were; CE, LE, LE V6, XLE and XLE V6. Introduced with the Camry were the two upgraded engines; 5S-FE (straight 4) and 1MZ-FE (V6) which had their power increased to 133HP (99kW) and 192HP (143kW) respectively. Offered only with the CE, LE V6 and Solara trim was the model S51 manual transmission. Camrys in addition to Solaras built with the particular 5S-FE 4 cylinder engine and that also had the appropriate trim package received the S51 manual transmission. All 1MZ-FE engines were to receive the E153 manual transmission.
